We are trying to buy a scanner for our research

Otago

These funds will enable us to keep the research going between major grants and do smaller projects like the premature baby project (please see our website-www.placenta.website), and buy a scanner for the HPV typing. Thanks to the Otago Charitable Trust and the University of Otago Dunedin School of Medicine Dean's Bequest Fund who have already helped us enormously. We are always applying to big funders like the Marsden Fund of New Zealand and the Health Research Council of New Zealand- but competition for research money is always fierce!

I'm a perinatal pathologist and one of the investigators. I work with a team of brilliant, really hard working, dedicated people, who want to make a difference. If we can show that human papillomavirus is indeed playing a role in pregnancy complications we can help Mums and Babies all over the world. We are working on the major problems of pre-eclampsia and premature labour amongst others.

Use of funds

Funds will go directly into buying the scanner

You helped my daughter through her difficult pregnancy with compassion and expertise. I wish we could give you more to say thank you. We now have a beautiful granddaughter.
