Raise funds for the Otorohanga Support House - to help support families and victims of domestic violence in the North King Country area

Waikato

Last month at the doTERRA leadership training, I learnt about the prevalence of domestic violence in New Zealand. It astounded me to hear the statistics and they truly shocked me. Every 3.5 weeks, a woman dies, and every 5.5 weeks, a child dies from domestic violence in NZ. 76% of family violence incidents are NOT reported to Police. It was beyond heartbreaking to hear what these families are going through - showing up to refuges with nothing but the clothes on their back is just a start.

At the leadership training, us doTERRA Wellness Advocates donated thousands of bottles of essential oils to Shine (Auckland based charity) to help support their victims emotionally and physically. This inspired me to donate to my local community.

The Otorohanga Support House provide services for the Otorohanga, Te Kuiti and Waitomo communities (North King Country) for the well-being of individuals, families/whanau. These guys are doing amazing things for people in need - Counselling, Wrap Around Family Support - Social Workers and Community Workers, Family Harm Staff, Budgeting Service, Citizens Advice Bureau, Community Foodbank, Community Health Transport and a raft of other social service agencies that use their facilities to engage with their clients. They have a JP clinic weekly, IRD visit monthly, free lawyer weekly and a health and welfare forum that they facilitate monthly. Rooms are available for hire for volunteer groups and send out a monthly newsletter that is free for not for profit, volunteer groups and local organisations to advertise in. At Christmas time they organise presents and food boxes for community members that have been nominated by schools, agencies, staff and others.

In September I am donated 50% of my Holistic Health workshop tickets to these wonderful people. We are putting it towards an emotions essential oil kit to donate to them. The doTERRA emotions blends help me every day with my own emotions and I know that they will help others to find the comfort and peace they may need, even if it is momentarily when they step into the Support House. I would love your help with donating. Every dollar counts. My aim is to raise a minimum of $320 for the emotions essential oils kit, and the extra $$ will go towards medical expenses for victims of family violence/vulnerable people, or for the foodbank to purchase food for families in need.
