Stolen car smashed through fences, street lights and signs before going over top of an innocent parked car before destroying a house wall.
Bay of Plenty
at 1am on the 5th of December I awoke to loud noises along with my husband shouting a car has crashed through next doors bedroom. The scene was dreadful, a stolen ute had smashed through brick walls, street signs and lights before going into/over a parked car and into the wall of the sleeping elderly pensioners house next door. Tragically the young driver passed away and my sincere condolences to his family. The neighbours miraculously survived the impact which has done severe damage to their home and property and will take months of rebuilding. Unfortunately as the ute was stolen they have been advised that insurance will not cover some of the damage that it caused which includes an uninsured parked car on the driveway and the excesses on insurance. They have also incurred several doctors visits and prescription fees to help them with stress/anxiety related to the accident. Thanks for taking the time to read and appreciate there are lots of worthy causes out there, my lovely neighbours are innocent victims in a tragic accident that will take a long time to recover from.
I'm involved because I am a neighbour and family. I see the ongoing impact this has long after the wrecked vehicles and damaged walls have been towed away/boarded over. It is an unfair tragedy that has very sadly left a young man dead and a loving elderly couple who were peacefully asleep in their beds at the time of impact stressed and traumatised in the sanctuary of their own home.
