Malakai and Noah would love their parents to be together in Christchurch as much as possible and any donation would be much appreciated..
Canterbury
On the 4th May 2021, Caitlyn went into early labour at 28wks and 2 days. Twin A, Malaki was born first, at 1.04am. Twin b, Noah was born at 1.40am. Malakai was born with a mass/ tumour on his lower back. As the scans had shown Malakai's tumour, the doctors were keeping a close eye on it and watching it closely for any growth and making a plan for its removal and testing.
On day 3 Malakai went to surgery for the removal of his tumour, the surgery was 3 hours long and they are confident they have it all and are going to be watching him closely as he grows to make sure it doesn't grow back. The tumour is currently away being tested.
As you could imagine for the young parents it is scary and so real-time, with thinking they still had weeks to get prepared and be "ready". The twins are in the NICU ward in Christchurch for the next 3 months and Shae has already had to go home to Ashburton to work to keep their head above water to pay bills etc.
I have set up this GIVE A LITTLE page to help the young couple financially be together in these early days, so they can have daily interactions, skin time, cuddles with their boys, but more importantly, be together as a couple to support each other.
I am Shae's Aunty.
I would like to help the young couple be together in Chch during these early days to support each other and have daily interactions, skin time, cuddles with their boys, but more importantly, be together without the financial stresses.
Any funds will be used to financially help the couple with travel to/from Christchurch, any household bills, any baby gear they still need to purchase for the twin's homecoming.
Also, they would like to leave RMD house a donation.
