We need help to pay for our dog's expensive surgery and ongoing costs associated with his sore body!
Waikato
After a long rollercoaster and numerous vet visits, resulting in answers like "he just has sore muscles" to "there is nothing wrong with him, except you need to walk him more often," we finally have an answer about what is wrong with our poor sore puppy.
For 2 years Tyson has had sore legs and sometimes has not been able to walk, and we suspected he had arthritis - yay, we were right! But Tyson has also ruptured one of his CCLs and needs surgery, which costs $3000-$3500.
EDIT: Today we discovered he will need the second knee done after the first has had time to heal, bringing us up to over $6000!
In addition, he will also need ongoing physiotherapy and medication for his recovery and probably for his arthritis, once he has healed from his surgery.
We do have pet insurance, but unfortunately due to luxating patellars when he was a puppy, any conditions to do with his knees are excluded.. we are really stuck and will have to borrow money to afford this surgery.
We have already paid $3000 for a different surgery 2 years ago, so he sure is proving to be one expensive puppy! But he is our baby, and he will be so much happier once he is better 😊
I would not usually feel comfortable asking for money from anybody, and I still don't feel comfortable about it - but if you have the kindness and ability to share a few dollars to help us pay for this, we (and Tyson) would really appreciate your help!! We are truly grateful for anything ❤
Surgery and ongoing medical costs for our dog Tyson
All better! 16 May 2021
It's been about 12 weeks since Tyson's surgery, and he doesn't seem to have any signs of pain anymore 😁
He is walking and doing some running, had some physio and is looking great! We hope he continues to build muscle so he can run as fast as he wants 😊
Thank you so much everybody for your support and kindness ❤
Aw thank you very much Jo and Floyd! 😁 I hope Floyd is doing okay!
Aww thank you so much!
