Our Dad lost everything and needs help getting back on his feet.

Our Dad has lost everything and desperately needs help to keep him off the streets.

Our Dad’s campervan was his home, his means of transport to get to and from work, and everything he owned was tragically lost to a freak mechanical accident that burned it all to ashes.

The van itself was a big loss but all of his possessions (ID, work tools, clothes, wallet, phone and sentimental items, bone and wood carvings he had hand made for us children).

He was very lucky to walk away and be taken to hospital in a stable condition, suffering from smoke inhalation and minor burns as a result of the blaze.He lost everything except a single fishing net.

He is still in a state of shock and gripped intensely by depression.

The police report said it was a motor/mechanical failure, a freak accident. They went above and beyond to make sure he was ok and offered all the support and resources while he was in hospital being looked over.

We spoke with Dad and told him we were going to start a GiveaLittle page to help raise funds for him to get back on his feet. He was very hesitant at first as he is far too proud (and ashamed) to accept help (and love) from anyone but I was able to convince him that it was time to let his guard down and accept help because he needs it, desperately.

This GiveaLittle is a last ditch effort to help our Dad get back up on his feet before it’s too late, he has only come on the mend from an illness 3 months prior that he nearly lost his life with. And due to this prior illness Dad was unable to organise insurance for the campervan at that time but is now aware the importance of having it for future references and is seeking advice to being better prepared as it has been one thing after another unexpectedly.

Any donation no matter how small will help Dad get into a safe place he can call home and enable him to get to/from work.

This has been a devastating blow for Dad and he would never ask for support like this which is why we have set this fund up for him. All donations would go towards replacing Dad’s campervan so he can start life over again.
