Our family needs assistance to support John Leonard in ICU.

On the 21st July we lost our beautiful bubbly Aunty Maria with complications from Influenza A.

Four days later her husband, my Uncle John, ended up in ICU fighting for his life, leaving their two amazing boys, Jed (15) and Sam (14) with an uncertain future.

Uncle John is in a critical condition and on Sunday 4th August had to be airlifted to Auckland CVICU for specialised treatment.

My Mum Cathy is his only sibling and currently his full time support person, however she is based in Wellington and is currently out of work, which adds financial strain to an already stressful situation.

Uncle John is potentially looking at a long stay in ICU so we are hoping to raise funds for members of our family who are providing bedside support for John whilst he's up in Auckland. These funds will help with flights, accommodation, transport and food costs.

We are aware that there is another Give a little page (https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/tough-times) set up which people have been incredibly generous in donating to, however that page was set up specifically for Jed and Sam to help them through this time without their parents, to cover their day to day living expenses during the difficult months to come.
