Our gift for Grandma - to finally go back home

For many of us it is our mum that holds our world together, our mum stands beside us. What many don’t know is Rosita lost her mum when she was young and was raised by her grandma and they came to NZ many years ago. Rosita’s grandma had her 91st birthday last month and Rosita had planned to take her back home, El Salvador at the end of this year to be surrounded by familiar places, her friends and family.

Devastation came and grandma was rushed to hospital days after birthday, her cancer was back and they nearly lost her. Grandma does not have long to live and Rosita and family have been told they should try and get her home quickly before this happens. For grandmas wish is to be buried in her own country.

Now you know Rosita, like her grandma she is one tough cookie, she will smile at any cost, help anyone who asks and hide her own pain, tiredness, and worry. She nearly works 24/7 and will always show up for zumba class because “they are family, and you keep going for them.” I asked if we could help her and of course she said “Nooooo thank you, don’t worry others”. Thank goodness I had Deb that reminded her they started RTD zumba addiction ten years ago to bring people together with music.

Rosita has changed her flights and is going to take grandma in a week, she is doing all to honour her grandma wish. This is not easy or cheap, time is not on their side so I ask if you can give a little or a lot to help, I know it would be accepted back with love tenfold.
