Please support Jack and his mum - a child who has never been home from ICU
Auckland
Meet Jack ... he is a gorgeous boy who is 2 years old on Nov 30th. He has been in Intensive Care all his life! He has been through hell and back and is still very much struggling.
While some of us can relate, no one can comprehend the heartache and struggle Jack's mama has and is still going through. And poor Jack, his life has been constant beeping, prodding, lines, surgeries, wondering what the outside world is like.
Jack was diagnosed with Tof(Tetrology of fallot). Whilst having heart repair in 2021 his airway collapsed which is why he now has a trache. Jack has many cardiological and non cardiological diagnoses and operations, some including (Vactrl) which is why he has horseshoe kidneys, spinal problems, and had colostomy surgery this month.
The future was looking brighter, even talk about how to get Jack to live with his three siblings in a real home. But more heartbreak and more trauma occurred with Jack's health plummeting down again. Palliative care has been suggested as everyday is such a risk for him.
Kelly, Jack's mum is so humble. It is time for aroha to be sent her way. She has been trying to survive life in RMD with 3 other children through lockdowns, through moving her family from Kerikeri to be as close to Jack as possible and many other challenges. She is a true survivor just like her son.
Please think about Jack and give a little.
While my daughter was in PICU we shared a room with Jack. Jack and his mum gave my daughter and I strength to keep fighting. Yet who is giving her strength, who is supporting them... we all need to.
All money raised will go directly to Jack's mama to support her and her family in this hard life
