Our Marae is in need of major upgrade or replacement. We are embarking on a 4 stage project over a number of years and we need your help.
Taranaki
• What needs to happen?
We need to raise money and lots of it. Funding grants are a plenty but we need to front up with our own money to start.
• Why are we embarking on this initiative?
Because we need to better accommodate and host hui by upgrading facilities with better and newer design and construction. We need to meet building compliance requirements and to improve functionality of different operations on the Marae. We need to restore historically significant assets and features whilst maintaining their purpose for use and to improve the landscape enabling better use and cheaper servicing costs.
• How much money do we need to raise?
Our target for “Stage One” is $2,500,000 to replace Ko Tama Wahine with a new dining room, kitchen, laundry, chiller, pantry, ablutions and hangi pit. We need to raise a third of that whether it is cash, goods or services, as long as it is accounted for.
The Manukorihi Pā Reserve Trust is leading the charge appointing a sub committee as the Project Owners to manage it and a Project Manager to drive it. www.facebook.com/ManukorihiPaTrustees
