The Palmy community grieves. Please help to purchase a memorial plaque plot to enable those who loved Owen Wildbore a place to remember him.

Manawatu / Whanganui

Owen Wildbore, a well known character in Palmerston North, was found deceased in Te Marae O Hine/The Square on 16th February 2021. The loss for the Palmy community is significant. No longer will we see our friend Owen cycling around the city, calling out to us across the street, popping into his usual places. The organisations he volunteered at are missing him greatly, including his church groups, the Luck Center and many others. Friends have come forward to say what a giving character he was, despite his personal struggles, including some from Little People of NZ who said in his own way he supported others with dwarfism.

People have grieved him in The Square at the site his body was found, but we are now aware for the need of a permanent place of memorial.

To this end we are calling for donations to assist with the purchase of a memorial plaque plot and the plaque.

The family, his close friends, his community groups are all wanting to give a little, however Owen's loss impacts the whole city and so we offer this Givealittle page to invite others to give as they feel able.
