Familys house damaged in fire, Personal belongs smoke and water damaged, Young family with 8 mth old boy with Major health issues
Canterbury
Paige Ford and Ranger were victims of the Fire that gutted parts of west Christchurch.
Their rental property caught fire in the roof cavity due to a spark in the roof cavity.
They can no longer live in their rental due to the roof being unsafe.
Their personal belongings suffered smoke and water damage.
Normally that would be fine.
In their case Paige and Ford have a little boy who has had a rough start to life,
He was born Prem. Spent many of weeks in NICU.
Many of surgery to help him live a normal life.
He is prone to infections and viruses so using blankets, bedding, furniture that is smoke damaged is just asking for a child to end up sick.
Unfortunately they did not have contents insurance due to recently moving from an area where they could not be insured, it slipped their mind, baby was #1 priority.
UPDATE: We would all like to thank you for the donations received. Paige and Ford are overwhelmed and very grateful for every donation made.
Paige & Ford finally got the chance to go through their home to find there is more belongings than originally thought damaged. They are devastated that a fire can destroy so much so quickly.
Donations of any sort welcome.
Please ask a question if you have goods you would lile to donate and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
My best friend and her family had their lives turned upside down.
I struggled to talk to Paige about it as I didnt know how to help.
I would love to buy them a new cot, bedding clothing and toys for their son, but reality is I havent the funds to do so.
