Let's keep the Latin Mural in Newtown alive and thriving!
Wellington
If you've walked around Newtown over the last few weeks you will have noticed and amazing new mural blooming right beside the City Mission. This is the Latin Mural, born from the stories of Latin American Wellingtonians and those in the wider Wellington communities who hold Latin America close to their hearts.
This mural has been led by Alfonso Pajarito, a renowned Chilean muralist who has kindly donated six weeks of his time to come to New Zealand and guide us through this process.
This project has become a reality with the support of Wellington City Council, Ethnic Communities and the generous donations from members of the Latin American community.
We are now fundraising to keep this project going and to support Pajarito while he is in New Zealand. We'd like to make sure that the mural is well maintained in terms of paint, cleanliness and pruning of surrounding trees. And we also want this project to keep blooming by inviting people for guided visits, creating a documentary to share the stories behind the mural and other projects.
With your support we can make these projects happen.
The Latin Collective is raising funds to maintain the Latin Mural and support Pajarito on his trip to New Zealand.
The funds raised by this campaign will be directed to cover the costs of the flight and travel expenses of Pajarito in Aotearoa.
