To fix the problem, fix the family
Northland
Kia ora whanau (Hello family).. My partner and I have been running community feeds in Kaitaia for the whanau needing awhi (help), and also giving away food, clothes, blankets etc. We get these items from the community through our Facebook profile. We do not get funded by anybody, we have no outside help. This is why we have started this page.
The need in the Far North is huge, so we have started a new initiative called One Whanau (family) At A Time. This is to help one family at a time to get basic needs met eg. car repairs, pest control, basic hygiene, basic staple food, beds, fridge, linen, housewares and to help with our running costs which is mainly petrol.
Up here in the Far North methamphetamine is rife and families are struggling to find housing, food etc. We are just trying to give families some hope with the small things we can do. With hope we may be able to fix some of the social problems up here in the Kaitaia area. We need to come together as a community, so please help our whanau up here by giving a few dollars.. this can change lives..
Because the need is so great up here is why we are accepting donations. This is from the familes we have been working with so far.. 'Thank you very very much'.. some with tears in their eyes..
Nga mihi (Thank you)
We are community caregivers to these people, we are the voice for their needs.
Money will be spent on the needs of the families in the Kaitaia area. Eg. car repairs, pest control, basic hygiene, basic staple food, beds, fridge, linen, housewares and to help with our running costs which is mainly petrol.
The need is so great up here there will never be enough to help everybody.
Keep it going whanau 12 July 2021
