Papakura Sea Scouts Jamboree Hopefuls need your HELP please

$490 of $23,000 goal
Given by 21 generous donors in around 4 months

We need to raise funds to help with the cost of a Jamboree Camp for 14 Scouts from Papakura Sea Scouts aged 11-15 who have worked hard to go

Auckland

As a Not for Profit Group in the local Papakura area, I know that the program Scouting NZ runs benefits tamariki and rangatahi by developing confidences, communication skills and team work through outdoor activities and promoting an active lifestyle. Our goal is to be able to extend these skills by sending them to the New Zealand Jamboree, where these Papakura rangatahi will get to test their skills they have been learning for the last 3 years with 6000 other like minded scouts from all over New Zealand and Scout groups around the world

We are in a position that we have 14 youth members between the ages of 11 and 15 years old that have worked so hard to qualify, the 14 youth members that can go to the 22nd NZ Jamboree is going to cost a whopping $1500 each which means these 14 rangatahi have to find $23,000 by October 2019 so they can all get the chance to enjoy this amazing and life changing camp.

Rangatahi from our group that have managed to find the funds to attend in the past have gone on to achieve their Queen Scout award which takes another 4 - 5 years of scouting which highlights that being able to go to a Jamboree develops persistence, self-motivation, personal development, and develops citizenship

So please everyone can you please donate to this wonderful cause and help change these 14 scouts lives because next time NZ host a Scouting Jamboree they will be too old to qualify for the next Jamboree so it is a once in a life time opportunity

Thank you for helping us no matter how big or small the donation is, it’s still $1 closer than we were before

About us

We are a small Scouting unit in the heart of South Auckland who offer an outdoors program and life skills towards the Papakura Kids trying to set them up to succeed in their lives

Use of funds

Whole Jamboree Camp fee, food, transport, uniform, venue, camping equipment and gear. There is no wet weather date so the camp will go ahead and would not be postponed or cancelled. Surplus to be used for Scouts to get wet weather gear.
