Paula has been given a short time to live! She is leaving 3 children behind
Southland
In lock down 2020, my friend Paula broke her back. Being a solo mum of three children, Hemi (12) Charlie (11)and Lucy (9) she had to spend three weeks in Christchurch hospital getting metal rods put in her back. Turns out she was also diagnosed with Multiple myeloma (which is a terminal cancer which effects her blood cells and bones). Since her back operation she has been trying to battle this cancer and raise her kids with a little help from her sister and friends. This last Christmas has been the hardest one yet, as she has huge financial struggles as we could only imagine. But she did it! She also got her middle child into junior high and her eldest into high school, which she has had to use most of her savings. She did six weeks in Christchurch getting a Stem cell transplant. Paula is now on her last medication which is funded. She can get more treatment, Pomalidomide, but she will have to pay for it herself which costs approx $200,000 which she can not afford. She would like to take her children on a holiday, pay for her daughter to have riding lessons, pay for the children to play sports etc.. this money will help so much and will let Paula live to the fullest in her last few months alive!
Paula is a very good friend, who’s kids have grown up with my kids
Everyday living cost, and giving the children everything she can!!! If possible, funds for Pomalidomide too.
