Paula has been diagnosed with throat cancer & people keep asking how they can help; relieving some financial pressure is one way we can help
Bay of Plenty
Paula Wheatley is our awesome friend and colleague who has recently been diagnosed with throat cancer with the HPV virus being a major contributor to the disease.
Due to the length of treatment & recovery time, Paula will be without income for much of the year. This along with extra costs incurred by GP visits, drugs, petrol & dental car following radiation plus the normal day-to-day living costs. We would like to show her our support & invite others to as well by donating, this will help take some of the strain and financial pressure of her and her family.
Paula is a big advocate of and would like to raise awareness to the HPV vaccine being available, having this vaccine will help reduce the risk of this for other people. This vaccine is available through your GP.
Friends of Paula who has been an awesome support to lots of people over the years & we would all like to support her through this.
GP visits, drugs & special toothpastes, vehicle costs for travelling for treatment, ongoing dental care & support with day-to-day living costs.
Any additional raised would be shared with organisations to help in raising awareness of the HPV vaccine.
Appreciation for donations 27 February 2018
Paula has specifically asked me to express her overwhelming gratitude for the outpouring of love and support everyone has shown to her and Jon. The donations from everyone has been amazing and will help ease the financial strain having a year off work will bring.
Paula starts her grueling treatment next week and will no doubt keep people updated as she progresses.
Sending lots of love and support to Paula and Jon as her journey begins.
