Paul is now fighting cancer on top of Parkinson's Disease. Please help him fight a good fight. All help appreciated.
Manawatu / Whanganui
Paul has been living with young onset Parkinson's Disease for over 20 years. In June this year, 2015, he was scheduled to have Deep Brain Stimulation, to help alleviate the symptoms of Parkinson's, but a few days before this operation was to be performed, Paul was diagnosed with a rare and painful form of cancer - one which he still does not have a name for. Paul has had to put his Deep Brain Stimulation Operation on hold and is now focusing on fighting this cancer. As at mid-September 2015 he has just completed 5 weeks of radiation, and is now waiting to be seen to arrange an operation. Even with his Parkinson's Paul has been able to support himself for many years but for the last few months he has been incapable of working and is finding things very hard financially. Any support would be appreciated.
I'm Paul's sister Jane. Along with the rest of his family, we want to do all we can do to support Paul and this fight. We love and respect Paul for all that he has done and continues to achieve.
End of Year Update 31 December 2015
Well, I am looking forward to a new year. This year has been pretty substandard, to say the least. I had my operation to remove the tumour on 11 November. The operation went well, as did the recovery (after a few hiccups). The doctor was happy with progress at last month’s visit and I have another follow up visit to the Doctor in January. I am truly looking forward to a better year in 2016, which is going to start of on a positive note in early February with Tracey and my wedding!
