Paws Potential – Animal Rescue is a local not-for profit organisation run by Kaila & Jamie Browne.

We take animals into our safe and loving home and care for them until they are healthy, happy and ready to find a suitable new home.

We have a close relationship with both the B.O.I vet practices in Kerikeri & Kawakawa and they complete the general health checks and any medical treatment required.

When we pick up each animal, they are all in various conditions and it is the most incredible feeling seeing them gain life back into their eyes and soul as time goes on and re-gain their health.

We treat our rescue animals just like our own fur-babies and encourage good behaviour and obedience. All rescue animals stay with Paws Potential until he/she is 100% ready to be re-homed, this could be a matter of weeks, months or longer depending on the animal’s individual needs.

Paws Potential is 100% not-for profit. All donations are hugely appreciated and used to care for Paws potential animals only. Our biggest costs are vet care and food. We love giving our time, love, care and energy because seeing the animals move on to their new homes and loving their new life is the best feeling ever and it’s so nice staying in touch with their new owners and hearing how they are going and all the cool things they are up to.

We have such a supportive community and between us, we are making a difference. Thank you to everyone who has donated bags of pre-loved blankets, collars, leads and other items that make our animals comfy and feel brand new.

Since starting Paws Potential in September 2017 when we rescued “Bear” a gentle and sweet dog, two local ladies have come into our lives (Josie & Summer) and our rescue mission has been super exciting ever since! Summer has been rescuing animals for 8+ years and is a true animal angel.

Summer, Josie and I are in the process of forming B.O.I Animal Rescue because as a team, we have achieved so many incredible things in the last 4 months.

Please check out our two face book pages below to follow the progress of our rescue animals and to see what we have been up to. We are currently in the process of forming B.O.I Animals rescue and will be publishing a functional website and Facebook page soon!

All of our rescue animals are de-sexed prior to being re-homed. We also have them vaccinated and medically treated if required. They receive worming, flea and tick treatments and all other necessary care too.

All animals are re-homed to suitable homes only. Processes are in place for this.

If you have any questions or would like to chat about anything, please don’t hesitate to give me a call on 0210700124 or email pawspotential@hotmail.com

Thank you for taking the time to read all of the above and once again I can't thank you enough for supporting the special animals at Paws Potential.

Kind regards and lots of thanks,

Kaila & Jamie Browne

We are besotted with all animals and see a real need for the likes of Paw Potential in Northland.

We have a lifestyle which makes us capable of giving these dogs a new start in life and feel it's hugely gratifying to do. We want to give animals a new chance at life and help reduce the high rate of unnecessary euthanasia.

We don't make a profit from Paws Potential and any donations we do receive help us with the cost of caring for our rescue animals. My husband and I both work hard to support our lifestyle and Paws Potential is purely a way to help where there is need by donating our time, love and passion so that these dogs can have a new beginning.

Use of funds

Food, dog housing maintenance, supplies, health and well-being of the dogs, general costs of caring for a dog.

It is an incredible feeling changing the lives of animals for the better and I cant thank you enough for your support! Your support makes it all the more possible! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  12 December 2017

So many wonderful things have happened in the last 4 months! I cant explain by text how appreciative I am for your support for our beautiful rescue animals.

I have met the two most incredible ladies,Josie & Summer who are also rescuing animals and we are in the process of forming a team called Bay of Islands Animal Rescue which is 100% not-for profit.

We are currently working with an amazing local web designer called Lucie so we have an online platform to advertise our recuse animals once they are ready for adoption, give credit to our supporters, fund-raise to help cover costs, share rescue stories so people can see the animals their donations have helped, content about us and what we do etc. Also, we are in the process of building a B.O.I Facebook page.

Please visit the below two Facebook pages that we manage to see our rescue animals and follow their progress. Soon, these two pages will become B.O.I Animal Rescue.
