PawTraits - Donated Pet Photography Sessions Project

Our pets very very quickly wiggle their way into our homes, our lives and our hearts. They very quickly become members of our families - and they are even quicker to snap up our favourite spot on the couch! A Pet Photography Session provides a lasting and unique memory of the love we share with those animals but I know, that for some, a Pet Photography Session is a luxury expense that is out of reach.

In 2014 I donated three Pet Photography sessions to families in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington. A timely reminder of the importance of 'family' photographs came to me when the second of these three pets recently passed away. In memory of Floyd and Maddy, the 2015 Paw-Traits project will donate more Pet Photography Sessions to families with pets that may be older, they may be ill - or the family and their pet have just made a really big contribution to their community.

Session Time

I will travel anywhere in New Zealand and then spend between 2 and 6 hours with the family and their pet. I ask all sorts of questions about them and what they love to do and we craft a session, at their favourite location or their home, around the things that they enjoy the most. I'll provide the treats and the toys - they provide the giggles .. and probably a bit of slobber too.

Then the session photographs will be prepared for them to view in their own online gallery. I create low resolution photographs (with a wee watermark) for them to share as well as social media images. All of the digital copies are donated.

All of the money donated will go to travel (families have been nominated from around New Zealand) and printing to give them all a canvas or fine art print from their session. The more donations, the more sessions!
