    Last Friday I went to Kaiaua to meet beautiful Billie and her human Josh. This was a gorgeous session in the sun and I'm really pleased to be sending these photographs off in the next couple of days.

    I'd love to raise another $50 to enable me to visit a family further down the island. Can you help me get there?

    Today we received a lovely donation and so I got to make a third phone call. I will be traveling up to Kaiaua as soon as possible.

    Thank you for making this nomination possible:

    "I want to nominate my brother, not because his dog is old or sick but he is. He actually has a terminal disease so this would be so nice for him to have some nice pics with his dog Billie who is a golden retriever. He loves his girl and we of course will continue to look after Billie. Thanks for your consideration :)"

  • Hello Tokoroa!!

    Today I have the awesome job of contacting two families to let them know that they have been nominated for PawTraits Donated Pet Photography Sessions. I so can't wait to hear their responses!!

    Their nominations included such beautiful words - there are some kick ass people in this world!

    "I am nominating my family, we have a 12year old staffy x shih tzu We have recently been told that he has developed melanoma cancer and it is too far developed to cure. My parents have told my 16 year old sister and myself but they are not telling my 12 year old sister as it will break her little heart. She's too kind to understand and each day it will bring her to tears if she knew. He has been the most amazing dog my family could have ever owned and he is apart of the family. He is my brother and my parents son. He has been there through everything and I consider him my bestfriend as corny as that sounds. I would like to nominate him and my family as his life will be forever missed and I would love my family to be able to look through the amazing pictures you can take and remember his life of happiness before his passing. Thankyou for the time and consideration."

    "Carrie King who runs Tokoroa Animal Rescue. I am nominating her because she does so much for so many animals and her knowledge of dogs is amazing. She never asks for anything and just quietly goes on rescuing,retraining and rehoming. She fought one of the biggest dog injustices in Nz history trying to save Jimbo the Amstaff from euthanasia,when he was wrongly accused of "killing a rabbit". Watching how much this broke her and yet she still carries on,in my eyes is a true hero. New Zealand need her, pig hunters need her to find their dogs when they are lost. I feel i am a better person just by knowing her."

    Today is a great day!

  • 36 PawTraits Nominations!

    To date I have received 36 nominations for the PawTraits project - for families all across New Zealand. Whilst we are getting the cause kicked off here on Givealittle I wanted to use the next few updates to share some of the amazing words that people have used to express why they believe these families deserve their own Pet Photography Session;

    Nomination for Nat and Pungo:

    Nat started Haven Support Services a year ago - a rescue for unwanted animals and give a helping hand to owners in the comunity in their time of need including food and desexing costs. She is a single mum who started this in honour of Pungo who is getting old and fragile. We joined forces a few months ago to create Haven Bull Breed Rescue and Education. She has been an amazing selfless person to work for who puts animals first even today (shes due to have a baby in two weeks) she wont stop for her love of animals. This would mean the world to Nat as she has had Pungo for many years now, Nat gives so much time and effort for the animals in our community, it would be nice to do something for her and Pungo.
