A smart phone app to distribute a series of short inspirational videos featuring Women of Influence offering practical advice and wisdom to

Nationwide

Pearls of Wisdom.

I am seeking funding to commission the development of a smart phone app that will send free inspirational videos to school leavers and women seeking to re enter the workforce.

Aims of the project.

To encourage women to return to the workforce after having a family.

To educate girls leaving school and joining the workforce.

To provide inspiration and information in an entertaining way to young women of all races in New Zealand.

There will be no cost to the young women who receive the videos.

The App will be free to download.

Recently I filmed a series of videos, which feature women in positions of power and influence who have a wide range of opinions that have been shaped by their life experience.

The opinions expressed are inspirational, feisty, controversial, enlightened and wise as well as opinionated, argumentative, funny and full of insight.

The videos are short, 1-2 minutes in length. They are full of inspirational nuggets of wisdom, practical advice and humour, from women who have made a difference.

The audience is students about to leave school and embark on careers and women who are trying to re-enter the workforce.

There will be appropriate Maori, Pacifica and Asian content.

The target audience increasingly get most of their information on line or on their Smart Phones.

Consequently the videos will be delivered on Smart Phones, using a custom designed app, and the videos will then be archived in a website.

The videos will be delivered at least once a week on Smart Phones.

This will be an ongoing project with many many videos distributed.

The project will be promoted through schools, newspapers, Facebook, Linked In, online, businesses and word of mouth.

Interviews will be on-going.

Since the filming and editing of the initial videos is complete the next stage is to commission the development of a smart phone app and a website archive.

I have researched quotations for the development of the Smart Phone app and the website as a package. These quotes have ranged from $600 (India), US$100,000 (USA), to $35,000 (NZ).

The quote which we have decided on is NZ$20,000 and this is the funding that I am seeking.

With this funding we can commission the development of the Smart Phone app and the archive website and we can then begin uploading the videos.

The response to the project thus far has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic.

Great initiative Keith. Be good to feature some stories from rural women too. Accessing the "Pearls of Wisdom" video clips via smart phones will depend on decent connectivity, which is another daily struggle in rural communities! Best of luck with the project.
