Hi, my name is Pere Rodgers and I'm a Powerlifter from Wellington.
Ever since I was a youngster, it has always been a dream of mine to represent my country on the world stage, and after hitting 40, have come to the realisation that Steve Hanson is probably not going to call!
After competing at the Asia/Oceania Bench Press Championships in Melbourne in December 2014, I managed to win the gold and set a new Oceania M1 record of 190kg in the U74kg weight class. This has opened up an amazing opportunity for me to represent New Zealand at the World Masters Bench Press Championships to be held in Denver USA from 15-18 April 2015.
Now I'm trying to raise some funds in order to make this dream a reality to represent on the world stage and show just what I'm capable of.
