Wow, what an amazing last few days it's been! Perry has battled gale force winds, hail, floods and he's battled on and is still on track to achieve a new Fastest Known Time for Cape Reinga-Bluff early this afternoon. You can see live updates on the web page here from 12.30pm today (Wednesday 21 November): https://www.facebook.com/The-last-Hurrah-Length-of-NZ-2018-203915496786401/

Perry has done a fantastic job of raising awareness and funds for his chosen charity, Running on the Spectrum - a huge thank you to each of you that has made a donation. Your generosity will make a real difference in the lives of Kiwi kids with autism and their whānau!

Now let's help bring him home - go Perry, GO!!!!

Hi all, hopefully most of you have been following Perry's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/The-last-Hurrah-Length-of-NZ-2018-203915496786401/) and know how brilliantly he's been doing. There have been some tough times for sure, but each time he has steeled himself, taken a deep breath, had another chocolate milkshake, and just got back to it! His mental strength is inspirational, let alone his physical ability to be running over 100km a day for this number of days straight.

Perry finished the North Island leg at the end of Day 11, and now on Day 13 is making steady progress towards Christchurch. It's great to see him well on track with his record attempt, and we know he's been enjoying other runners getting out to share a few km with him along the way. He's also had a whole team of fantastic support crew who have given their time to help out with driving and keeping him safe and supplied with what he needs - so big thanks to all those people.

And at Running on the Spectrum we're hugely appreciative of what he's doing to raise awareness and acceptance of people with autism, as well as raise funds to support the running programmes and running shoes the charity is getting out to kids with autism across Aotearoa. Perry's generosity is overwhelming, and we can't thank him enough! Keep at it Perry, we're all cheering you on!!
