Mangatu's reason for raising money, is to buy some automatic possum traps to get on top of the possum problem in our native bush.
Auckland
Mangatu Wilderness Project is raising money so we can buy 4 x AT220 automatic resetting possum traps to put in our pockets of native bush. These traps work 24/7. We have a big possum problem, the possums are very destructive in our native bush.
We have already dealt with over 500 possums in the last year and a half using a variety of other methods.
We already have 2 x AT220 which have proved to be the most consistent and affected pest control for possums. They are quick and humane and also reset automatically.
The Mangatu Wilderness Project is a project to regenerate and replanted native vegetation, enhanced riparian margins around the substantial Mangatu Stream and tributaries. The project also like to make the property PEST FREE.
We want to have a pest free habitat so that native birds, flora and fauna can flourish.
You only have to watch Fighting the Wild to understand what we are up against.
The money raise will be used to buy 4 x AT220 automatic resetting possum traps. If there is any excess money we will use that to buy more AT220s. If we don't meet our target we will buy as many traps with what we have raised.
