---------------------------------
Pete was on his motorbike in Vietnam and was hit by a truck. He was in critical condition. He went there to work, for a change, for something better. The koha is to help towards the ever-increasing medical expenses and to help Pete's whanau at this challenging time. Whanau want to be there, no matter the distance, no matter the challenges in their way. Help them be at his side. Sadly the fight is over. Help them bring him home.
-----------------
Pete Waipouri - one of the world's really good guys. A son, a brother, a cousin, an uncle, a nephew, a grandson, a colleague, a mentor, a mate - a friend; one of the best.
A huge smile, a cheeky wit, one of Aotearoa's biggest & most dedicated sports fans - a guy who'll help whenever he can, the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back.
His whanau are devastated because they want to be at his side, helping him fight and pull through. They are racing the clock; every day the medical costs climb, the fight gets harder. Distance, expenses (travel & medical costs) and time - all huge barriers blocking them from being there for him. Help them reduce the costs so whanau can do what whanau do best in times like these - help them be there.
Our aroha, prayers and thoughts are with Pete, his whanau and friends at this time.
Thank you for your kindness, thoughts and koha - it means the world to Pete and his whanau.
Georgina is one of the most caring, generous and loving people I know; she is one of my dearest friends. Her brother is in need. Her whanau love him. They wanted to be at his side, helping him pull through. Now they want to bring him home. Help us help them. Thank you for anything you can offer, and arohanui from the bottom of our hearts.
The funds will be used to help pay Pete's ever-increasing medical expenses in Vietnam and to help whanau to be there with him so he can fight his way out of critical condition.
Heartbreaking outcome 2 December 2017
Today we heard the news that Pete has passed away. The whanau will use the funds towards medical and tangi/funeral costs including travel to get to him. They will then bring Pete home. Whanau and friends will celebrate his life, together, giving him the farewell he deserves, surrounded by those who love him. Thank you again for the aroha shared.
