Phil Campbell - Papa Smurf (Alias Father Christmas), his boys would like a hand

It is with great sadness I announce the death of my Dad Philip Campbell, After a brief but hard fought battle with cancer he passed peacefully surrounded by family in Greymouth Hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning (8th February).

Money received will now go towards funeral costs

Philip has been busy over his lifetime from working at the TAB, volunteering for the Fire Service, working for Higgins and his biggest joy in life… bringing up his boys.

2023 started off rough for Phil when he was assaulted whilst someone tried steeling his car, lucky for him he had the ultimate hack for it not to be stolen… it’s a manual.

He slowly recovered but fate decided it was ready to pull him back down when he fell down breaking his leg back in June. Recovering this time has been slow, he has been hoping to get back to work to feel normal again.

Unfortunately this wasn’t to be when a routine check on his Kidneys found some lumps on his Liver. Phil went in for exploratory testing to find out what these lumps were. The results came in… Cancer.

The more tests that have been completed the worse we know and the less time we have been given with him.

For Phil all he wants to do is to make up for things he should have done earlier on in life… his bucket list.
