Update from Co-conveners 3 June 2011
The Pacific Youth Climate Leadership Workshop brings together emerging leaders from across the Pacific. The central theme of the workshop is the threat of climate change to Pacific Island communities. Participants at this event will: Exchange skills and ideas with youth leaders from across Pacific Island Nations.Gain climate education and further develop leadership capacity. Workshop community projects that help safeguard and prepare Pacific communities for climate change. Develop tools for the effective communication of the impact of climate change on Pacific Island people to the world. Undertake facilitator training so that leaders are able to take learning from this workshop back to their own communities and mainstream climate education. It is the goal of the organisers, 350Pacific.org, to get 1000 young leaders from across Pacific Island Nations to attend the workshops. This includes Pasifika youth from Aotearoa New Zealand. Please dig deep and give heartily.
