Our darling pip had a big day yesterday. She had her damaged leg amputated. Her knee joint kept leaking fluid and she had it drained twice in a week. So the call was made to remove it sooner rather than later. Pip was in excellent health so it was a great time to do the procedure. I visited her this morning as she was in surgery for more than 4 hours yesterday so I let her have a good sleep before I went to visit. She was a bit miserable, I think she is over the vet clinic now! But she is currently back home resting and recovering. We hope this is the final hurdle pip needs to recover from and can continue on a good path for the rest of her days. Will update again in a few days 😊

  • Pip during her ct scan

Last week pip had her ct scan. The specialist said she believes pip won't need spinal surgery (woohooo!!) and we are still deciding what is best for her leg. It is looking more like an amputation will be needed. We need to wait for the infection in her knee to clear up before we can put her through such a big surgery. Very hard decisions to make!
