My darling little Piper cat needs your help, please? I am not one to ask for help for myself, I need help for my cat.
Auckland
Piper was a wild kitten born on a farm I work at. She was caught and I tamed her, now she is 3 and the most affectionate and clever little cat. Unfortunately she has had an ongoing issue with a dental disease called Stomatitis where her immune system attacks her own teeth and gums, causing tooth decay, inflammation and ulcers.
She had dental surgery in July, but needs more treatment.
Very painfull, but she never complains.
She also has an underlying condition which I was in the process of getting her tested etc.
UPDATE: She may have a tumor in her liver, or a nasty little blood parasite called Bartonella that leeches onto red blood cells, or an immune disorder that causes her body to attack its own red blood cells.
Need further blood scans, xray or ultrasound to rule out each possible cause of her anemia.
She is currently on stetoids, anti nausea and antibiotics...so she is dealing with all this..plus a sore mouth.
Ever tried to pill a cat with a sore mouth? Not easy. I normally hide them in her dinner, but days like today when she is not interested in food makes it a tad difficult.
Due to unfortunate circumstances I'm currently off work awaiting surgery and no ACC cover so I'm struggling to meet her much needed vet treatments.
Piper has been back and forth to her vet.
She is such a tough little cat.
Please help me, I am so desperate to help her. She is feeling rather awful.
Her tongue continuously sticks out now as some of her front teeth have gone...but it is quite cute.
Donations will be used at Mangere Vets, they are fantastic.
Piper and I are so grateful to you. I will always help an animal in need but am unable to temporarily, so thankyou for helping me to help her.
I'm Pipers' human mum, and due to an injury am not able to go to work until I have surgery but need funds to cover Pipers' ongoing treatment for feline stomatitis and immune issues.
Funds will be used for vet costs including Blood tests, dental treatment/surgery, medications, quality soft foods, travel(long drive to Vet clinic). Lifelong medication.
Sad News 17 November 2018
Piper unexpectedly passed away, most likely heart failure, even though she was improving and gaining weight, her illness was all too much on her little heart. She died in my arms, loved and cuddled when she took her last breath.
My heartfelt thanks you all of you for your generosity, it enabled her to be free of pain and her last weeks were spent enjoying the spring sunshine.
Her donations will be used to pay off the vet account, and a wee garden for her to rest.
Kindest Regards,
Angie
