Supporting the next generation of futsal players, by taking on the 2027 one day, 243K Coast to Coast challenge.
International
The play without barriers fund, exists to support players and families experiencing financial hardship, helping remove barriers to participation in the WaiBOP Football, Futsal programmes and competitions. The fund is intended to ensure financial circumstances do not prevent players from accessing opportunities to play, and represent their community.
In February 2027, Cliff (WaiBOP Futsal Manager) and Olly Harris (WaiBOP Futsal player) will be taking on one of New Zealands toughest endurance events, the one day Coast to Coast.
Futsal has played a huge role in both of our lives. Through the experiences we have had, we see that many players face financial barriers that make it difficult to continue playing. Registration fees, boots, travel and tournament costs can all prevent young athletes from reaching their potential, or just participating.
Our goal is to raise funds to help young players overcome these challenges so they can continue enjoying the game and pursuing their goals, regardless of their financial situation.
Over the coming months, we will be sharing our training and progress of the journey towards the one day Coast to Coast 243 kilometres. Every kilometre we complete is dedicated to helping players playing futsal in 2027.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. Thank you for supporting our regions futsal players journey, helping more players stay in the game.
We work closely with futsal players through WaiBop futsal, Where Cliff is the Futsal Development Manager.
Funds raised will help players cover the costs of registration fees, playing equipment and tournament fees and more, ensuring financial barriers do not stop them from participating in the sport they love.
