Help us build a mara hupara playground at the Kerikeri Sports Complex
Kerikeri, Northland
Want a playground at the Kerikeri Sports Complex? So do we! The Te Amo Putoro Working group is a collaboration between the Sports Complex, Ngati Rehia and a group of community focused volunteers who are aiming to build a play space for our whole community to meet, play, relax and explore. The concept was driven by the large number of tamariki who attend the rugby, netball and soon to be squash courts but who don't have a safe place to play and be entertained. Mara hupara designs use traditional play concepts that encourage freedom and exploration using equipment made from natural materials. This playground is unique to our local area and promotes fun, belonging, learning and exploration all in a safe space.
Te Amo Putoro is a mara hupara style playground being built for our community at the Kerikeri Sports Complex.
Now that we have a design this next phase of fundraising will go purely into the build of the facility.
Phase One Taking Shape 9 October 2024
Hi everyone, thank you for supporting us as we build a beautiful, natural play space for our tamariki at the sports complex. We have enough funds now to start phase one so the wheels are turning for us to purchase some key play pieces, appoint project managers, meet our health and safety standards and then …………. Start construction!! We appreciate all your support to date. Please spread the word to whanau and friends. $5 per family will get us there! THANK YOU!
