Playground for Bellevue

$2,150 donated
Given by 25 generous donors in one year

Playgrounds offer our kids lots of opportunity for fun and learning. Sadly our playground was no longer safe, and had to be taken down.

Wellington

In 2015, the tough decision was made to take down our junior playground.

The Board commissioned four different assessments from various experts, and all conclusions were the same. We were advised that our playground was unsafe, could not be made to comply with the current health and safety requirements, and should be taken down to ensure our children did not get seriously hurt.

Taken down it was, in October 2015.

This leaves our junior school with no playground. No slide, no swings, no climbing frames. Nowhere to develop physical strength, coordination and balance. Nowhere for our littlest students to meet new friends and improve their social and physical abilities.

The cost of a new playground is great. We've already got our fundraising under way, and have managed to raise $23k towards the replacement. We're busy applying for grants too, but we need your help.

We're still a long long way off our target (we're aiming for $100K). Every dollar helps us towards restoring the environment where learning grows.

We're SO close to our goal!  9 February 2016

Late last year we got the amazing news that we would be receiving a very generous grant from the Pelorus Trust! This grant, along with our other fundraising efforts means we're only $10,000 away from our new playground!

With this news, we're more determined than ever to raise the remaining funds, with a view to getting the playground built asap (possibly even in the first school holidays)!

Spread the word, we need your help!!
