From our family to all of you, our Givealittle Friends and supporters, we just want to say a huge thanks and how truly grateful Alex and her family are for the most wonderful kindness and generosity you have all shown to her over the last 9 months. Your donations and kind words and prayers have given her the the strength and ability to keep on and have helped her to lighten the load on what was a massive burden on her and she is so humbled. Keytruda has made a significant impact on the cancer fight . Alex was not able to continue through to April as planned but is still under the umbrella of the Team at Crest Hospital and also Palmerston North Hospital. The last couple of months she has had some highs and lows but is still making massive improvements and is still as positive and upbeat today as she was in the beginning. We have certainly been lucky to have had this opportunity from Bevan and Kathy to get this wonderful page up and running and once again Alex and family along with Chris and I are so very grateful to you all . Thanks for your amazing kindness and best wishes to you all x

Alex has had a tough time of late , she has been struggling to keep solids and liquids down the last month so has spent the last 4 days in Palmerston North Hospital. Today they are going to do some exploration with a camera and she is hopeful that she will soon be fit enough to be able to come home to her babies. She is still very positive and looking forward to a brighter new year. Thank you all for your kind and generous support through out 2021 and we will you all a very happy new year

Alex has reached her halfway mark in her treatment and has had excellent results from her latest scan so the keytruda is doing its job and we are all elated to say the least . She is approaching treatment #10 on Monday and although she still has a long road ahead to the end (April 2022) she is still as willing and ready to continue to fight the good fight .she has had plenty of tough battles thrown at her this year but has always shown her dertmination to keep a positive happy mindset .she is so grateful to all who have shown her their love and support during the last 8 months and we are all so humbled 🙏 the sun is certainly shining brighter for her . Which is a timley reminder with summer approaching please please remember to SLIP SLOP SLAP Melenoma is a killer and can happen to anyone of us

  • Keeping up the fighting spirit

I'm six months in on battling this horrible cancer , it's been hard work. I'm forever falling asleep, forgetting everything, not eating or nauseated all day long. I've had continuous blood tests and have been on and off steroids to help me gain some normality back. I've lost almost all strength in my hands -I can't open drinks anymore, it takes me forever and a day to fill my wood basket or unload my groceries. I will sit in my car for a good 10 minutes before I unload my children. Theres been no gyming no boxing no running or bush walks (which has taken a toll on my mental health at times) .... Its been so hard parenting my children and the past six weeks has been a blur but thanks to my amazing support team they seem to get me through.

Last week I had my first scan which will be able to tell me if the Keytruda treatment I'm on is working.

Tomorrow I find out my results -heres hoping it's good news 🤞

I need you to know because of your kind support and generosity you’ve helped to give me this fighting chance and for this I am truly humbled and grateful.

    From me and my babies…

    Thank you

    Alex ♥️

Over the past two weeks I have had so much love and support from friends family and strangers, I'm blown away at how generous everyone has been. People turning up with groceries , fire wood , donations , people sharing my givealittle page, supportive messages, help with my children , freezer meals , businesses fundraising up and down the country side , people organizing for me to get beauty treatments done for some "me" time. I have had so many offers and so many helping hands taking the load off me !! . I'm one treatment down and almost ready to begin my next treatment. My heart is so full 🥰 a huge thankyou to literally everyone of you who has been there over this journey making it less stressful on my children and I. I'm absolutely overwhelmed and nothing goes unnoticed !!!!
