Hip Surgery for Bia
Bay Of Plenty, Whakatane District
PLEASE HELP BIA! This is a hard post to write, and it may be difficult to read. We are in tears, and it’s so the wrong time for us, but WE HAVE TO SHARE.
We received an urgent emergency call, and we were reluctant…. but then we saw her! And our hearts shattered! The photos speak for themselves… Bia can’t tell us what happened to her. Her body and her eyes tell her story. This is how hell looks like.
Bia will not stand. She lays on the ground pleading for mercy. She will dare look at you just for a fraction of a second, enough to see her gorgeous chestnut eyes. And the fear, and kindness, and the plea in those eyes. She is skin and bone. It absolutely broke us.
She was found in a hole she dug under a house where she dragged herself with catastrophic injuries inflicted either by human hands or a vehicle. She was very quiet and barely moved so it took a long time for someone to spot her. She was very sick with parvo, very badly injured, and in a tremendous pain while lying there, half buried, unable to walk and all alone, for God knows how long!
A kind man found and rescued Bia from beneath the house. She hugged him closely all the way to the vet.
The vet confirmed she went through parvo (now clear), she is almost 1 year old, and she had multiple external wounds and her front legs broken (they healed…) and a dislocated back hip. Bia has a chance at a full recovery with surgery.
Bia has an incredible will to live. PLEASE help her see that life is more than pain and loneliness!
