Please give generously to help cover Boss the greyhound's vet bills

Auckland

Boss, a beautiful black and white greyhound was recently diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis. After successful surgery, he was on the mend until post-op complications have resulted in what appears to be potentially life-threatening pnenumonia. Boss is being monitored at the vet at the moment but the vet bills are mounting ($4,400 to date) and he needs our help. Please give generously to help Nicki and Boss!

UPDATE  31 December 2019

Boss has been on a real roller coaster. The initial surgery went well, but as you know Boss inhaled some vomit 12 days ago resulting in aspiration pneumonia, which is a risk with laryngeal paralysis. He had to have IV antibiotics, and the vomiting and acid reflux caused severe oesophagitis which caused him severe pain and meant he had to be admitted for two nights. This also resulted in him not eating or drinking. This is turn meant Nicki and Sean couldn't get his vital meds into him, meaning that he had to be admitted to the after hours. After some very low ebbs, Sean has learned to inject painkillers and Boss had gradually started to eat and drink again. Although he missed some antibiotic doses as a result the pneumonia appears to be under control at this stage, and Boss has been eating and drinking enough to get his meds in. He's still a skinny and not very well boy, and Nicki and Sean are taking it hour by hour with regular vet trips being a reality for a bit yet.

The costs thus far have been just under $3000 for the initial surgery, overnight care at after hours on Sunday 22nd December $1200.00, overnight care for for 2 nights at the after hours on Christmas and Boxing days, $2000, local vet care up to and including Friday 27 December just over $600, further visits on Saturday 28 and today Tuesday 31 December to local vet $280 and emergency vet visit on Sunday 29 December $220.

Nicki and Sean have some insurance but this will of course not cover anything like the total of $7300.

Nicki and Sean have asked us to pass on their heartfelt thank yous to the donors. This give a little has made a massive difference to them and has meant that Boss could get the life saving care he needed. With 102 donors, some anonymous, it's not going to be possible to thank everyone individually.

Nicki and Sean have said that if there is any money left from the give a little when the bills have been paid, it will be put into helping other greyhounds. It is difficult to work out what the final total will be at this stage given that he's going hour by hour and the situation could change, but he will need some further check ups at the least.
