Please help us bring Mel home.
Levin, Manawatu-Wanganui
Our beautiful Wife, Mum, Daughter, Grand daughter, Sister, Cousin, Niece and Aunty has tragically lost her battle with cancer in the UK. Mel travelled to Finland to support her daughter Cassie, who was competing in the world Tae Kwon-Do championship. Although diagnosed before she left, the severity of her cancer was not known and once Mel arrived in the UK, to begin her journey home for treatment, things took a turn for the worse.
Mel ended up in a Newcastle hospital severly ill. The medical team were going start treatment, however, after tests were carried out, it was deemed the cancer was untreatable. Mel's parents, Heather & Ken made the journey to the UK to be with Mel and family. They were all at her bedside.
Mel is survived by her two beautiful chidren, Daniel & Cassie, husband Steve, brother's Dion and James and extended family.
The cost of bringing Mel home, is huge.
Please help us bring Mel home, so we can give her the send off she deserves.
Mel is my niece.
Bringing her home from the UK to New Zealand.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. 16 October 2023
From all of Mel’s family, to extended family & friends, we wish to send heartfelt thanks to you all who took the time to contribute funds to bring Mel home, but more importantly, spoke so highly of her, and expressed your love for this beautiful women. We are a family who are grieving for this sudden & unexpected loss, and your words & thoughts give us great comfort. All of us are blown away by your generosity, and humbled by your loving response.
Above all else, Mel was a devoted mother & wife, and loved all of her family who in turn loved her. Dan & Cassie adored her, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. Unconditional love at its absolute finest. That love also shone between Mel and her mamma Heather, and brothers Dion & James. Best mates.
Mel’s funeral will be held Saturday 21st October, 11am at the Levin Salvation Army hall. It will be an emotional day, but also a celebration of Mel’s special place in all our lives. We hope you can join us.
Kind regards
Grant (Mel’s Unka)
