My whānau and I are trying to raise funds to help take the financial stress off of our parents as our mum has had a life changing operation.
Wellington
Kia Ora, whanau and friends. As a lot of your may already know, Rose and Pete have been in south America for 4 years now. They have been working hard, bringing a bit of kiwi ingenuity to the Ecuadorian dairy industry.
And this year was their time to come home and share all their exciting experiences with us, but this year also had a turn for the worst. On 5/5/18, when my mother was admitted to the hospital follwing up on some serious chest pains. Which lead to multiple tests and scans.
Our mum had to undergo open heart surgery. Doctor's had found that her aorta had enlarged and repairs had to be made immediately. Thankfully they caught the problem when they did. Our mums surgery went well and now in the recovery process.
When your in a foreign country, you have to have health insurance, which they did have when they signed a contract with the company they went over with but the contract had ended before they were planning on coming home. Giving them a massive medical bill after surgery, $120,000.00. Having to use their savings they earned whilst being abroad. Leaving them burdened with financial hardship.
We are trying to raise some money to help our lovely mum out, to take the stress off of her and our step dad, Pete which they don't need right now and to hopefully get her home as soon as she is better.
Thank you x
I am a daughter of Rose and am wanting to help bring my mum and step father home from south America.
Funds will be used for flights home from south America and any further medical costs mum may need.
