Sadly last night after 5 weeks on an emotional roller coaster with our beautiful girl, who has been such a fighter, we had to let her go. It wasn’t the skin wounds in the end, it was a blood clot. We are absolutely devastated and are eternally grateful for the kindness and specialist support we have received from Sean at North Shore Emergency Veterinary who has been a Saint and Mark at VSG.

Thank you for your support and trying to save our gorgeous girl. We are devastated but hope she is in a happier place now.

So sorry for your loss, Daisy was a beautiful girl, a fighter. She's free of pain now but a huge loss in your lives, so sad.

  • Visit to see Daisy

Yesterday was a tough day visiting Daisy. I sat with her stroking her head and talking to her. She has been getting 3 hyperbaric treatments a day to try and save her leg. This is where they discovered the blood clot the other day. A clot is incredibly painful but the most important thing is trying to keep the blood circulation going.

Sitting with her I cried a bucket of tears - I love her so much. She is such a sweetie and has come so far. It’s hard to imagine that this has been 4 weeks now. Only last week we took her for a little walk and she was trotting along wagging her tail. Fingers crossed - she is a stubborn girl so we are hoping that will help her get through this.

Thinking of you guys & praying that Daisy makes a full recovery. She’s a huge part of your family & I can only imagine what you’re going through being a dog owner myself. Sending lots of healing your way xx

  • Vet visit

      20 July 2019

I am heading off to visit Daisy. I am a bit nervous as Sean our amazing vet has tried to prepare me for what she is going to look like. Yesterday she appeared to be improving but today she appears overly tired so requires a blood test to check her internal organ function.

I am hoping that with Daisy being featured on the front page of the local paper that more people are becoming aware of the dangers or rat poison. Please be like us and only use traps.

I can’t wait to pat her soft, golden retriever ears and give her lots of cuddle.

  • Daisy has had another set back

      18 July 2019

Daisy has developed a blood clot in her leg and Sean at the North Shore Veterinary Emergency clinic has upped her hyperbaric treatments to try and save her leg. We aren’t going to give up but she still needs help. Thank you to everyone who has helped us get the help she needs and a HUGE thank you to Sean the vet for not giving up and going well beyond the call of duty and thanks to Mark at VSG.
