Please help Papa Ron get home to Ruatahuna
Ruatahuna, Bay of Plenty
My loving father, Ronnie Marua Peita, passed away last week in Australia and I need help to get him home to Te Umuroa marae in Ruatahuna . My father touched the lives of so many and was always there if anyone needed anything he would have given the shirt off his back . He taught so many as a primary school teacher throughout his life and is fondly remembered by all of his past students. He was a mentor to many in the Maori community and was highly respected as a great orator and kaumatua, in Australia and at home in New Zealand. If anyone can spare some money to help get my father home my family would be very grateful. Thank you and love to all

Papa Ron finally at rest 20 September 2024
Kia Ora whanau and friends, my family and I would like to thank everyone for their love and support throughout this difficult time and especially thank everyone for their kind donations to repatriate my fathers body but after all the politics in doing so it was decided that it was too late for me to bring him home to Te Umuroa marae and at short notice was laid to rest In Catherine hill cemetery in Newcastle on Tuesday.
We have endured many costs in the past few weeks travelling between Australia and New Zealand such as last minute flights, accommodation, food and loss of income that your kind donations will help to cover.
Given the change in circumstance, if you'd like to request a refund, please get in touch with Givealittle at helpdesk@givealittle.co.nz by next Tuesday, October 1st. Otherwise, funds will be used to cover the costs we have incurred.
The relief I have from the support you have all shown me has lowered the anxiety for us knowing that we will be able to pay our mortgage and feed our kids next week. Words cannot express our gratitude to everyone and I would especially like to thank the Clark whanau for their unwavering support love and generosity . Love to all of you
Thanks Shona x love to all the hippies see you soon I hope
