    Happy new year everyone!

20/20 is going to be the best year yet .

Looking back at my recovery I have so many things to be thankful for and you are all part of those thoughts 🙏.

My recovery would not have been the same if were not for your kind and encouraging messages and your donations.

I have been able to extend my pool and gym rehab and am now past the past Management stage and onto upper body training and my physio is pleased with the outcome as am I .

I have an MRI scan follow up in early February to see if my bone fusion has taken which means I can ease back to surfing and work .. that’ll be another great couple of days !

Elysia amd I recently walked to the Tarawera falls which was a magic day and one to remember. Each journey now makes me realise just how precious life is and how lucky I am to be surrounded by such amazing friends and family .

Firstly thanks to everyone who offered support and / or donated toward Jays recovery.

5 weeks post op and he has improved a lot with more mobility . He’s walking everyday and although still has issues with fatigue and pain he is very greatful with how far he has come so far.

He has another 3 weeks in a neck brace before he can begin rehabilitation of neck movements , but in the interim he is able to attend a concussion clinic to aid his progression .

He is looking forward to rehab and gaining more independence soon

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and donations toward Jays recovery.

Jay had his first hospital follow up with the surgery team at Waikato yesterday .

Alignment is good and wounds and stitches are healing well. Although Jay has lost a third of the movement in his neck he is happy & greatful to be mobile and is keen to get into rehab in 6 weeks time when his neck brace is removed.
