"Kia ora whanau!
I am passionate about the peace movement both locally and overseas, and a year ago was asked to become National Coordinator for World Beyond War (WBW) Aotearoa New Zealand.
I am really keen to attend the international conference in Toronto in late September so I can meet a like-minded bunch of peace activists as well as the colleagues I work with on the WBW international committee.
Going to this conference will really help with networking and communications and I will pickup great ideas and ways of doing this important work, as well as contributing some of our wonderful ideas on the world stage.
This work is voluntary and I need to reach out to my community for support.
I will also take the opportunity to meet up with members of the Friends' Peace Teams and attend a meeting at the United Nations New York as an observer on the Nuclear Ban treaty, as well as stay at the Code Pink Peace activist House in Washington DC.
I would love your support for me in this ongoing work, please help me and I will be so grateful, and come home and share with you all,
Many thanks,
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou,
Rangimarie,
Liz xx"

From Toronto to New York 26 September 2018
Dear friends,
We had a very successful conference in Toronto which was packed full for me, as a participant, a speaker and a volunteer. It was great and I met some wonderful activists from all over.
You can see more on my facebook page-

Now I am on the way to New York city by Greyhound bus after spending a couple of nights with friends and family.
Tomorrow I meet my colleagues Laurie Ross from NZ Peace Foundation and Alyn Ware from Parliamentarians for Nuclear Disarmament ( pictured), and we are attending as observers a high level meeting on Nukes at the UN. It is pretty serious. Jacinda is also in town and creating waves in that strong and joyful way she does.
I also met up with Nadine Hoover from Friends Peace teams and we made some good plans for our work in Aotearoa NZ.
Thanks again for supporting me and lots of love till next time, Liz xx
