Elisapeta has dedicated her life to church and community services and deserves to be laid to rest as per her will, and with peace and love.
Auckland
My grandmother was a strong woman with a strong faith in Christ. She was a church woman who believed in the act to give more often and you shall receive in return. Here, I hope I can fulfil her dying wish.
Elisapeta Makalio was on medications for years for several health issues from diabetes, to having a mechanical heart and so on, but the worst of her health issues started 6 months ago. Being 78 years old, having blood taken from her daily or if not weekly for testing, she had to undergo operation after operation. 3 times we thought the issue had been discovered and solved. But that was three times lucky to still have her with us. Was even announced deceased at one point then hours later woke up again. Praise Jesus.
She was transferred from Middlemore Hospital to Auckland Hospital as they had done all they can for our nana and found nothing to solve her pain. It wasn't until 2 weeks ago, the devastating news we did not want to hear was announced. My grandmother had bowl cancer. Her stomach grew and grew and by the looks from a colonoscopy, the spread was extensive and doctors told us it was incurable and with the damage already done, there were no further treatments or forms of hospitalisation available to help her get better as they did all they could within that 6 months.
Our strong grandmother was discharged on 28th February 2019, and sadly left us on 02nd March 2019. Her dying wish was to be taken back to her mother land to be buried along side with her parents. With the unexpected costs, this appears to be highly impossible but I do not want to let her down. Promises cannot be made by how much my family can raise or has to offer as this too is an unexpected cost for them.
I am asking on behalf of my family for any kind donations please that would go towards the cost of our grandmothers dying wish. I have one week to try all forms of fundraising online and in person. I hope to raise atleast $16,000 which appears to be impossible, but I will not know unless I try. As the eldest grandchild, i aim to do my grandmother proud and deliver.
This is for my grandmother who has been sick for 6 months too long, only to have been told she had cancer two weeks ago. She was discharged on Thursday 28th February when she was told her terminal illness could not be cured, there were no further treatments or other forms of hospitalisation possible to help her get better. She sadly passed away on March 2nd 2019.
Funeral services costs here in NZ.
Costs to transport her body to Samoa.
Any surplus will go towards the costs of the burial in Samoa. If i do not have success in this fundraiser, i will put all funds towards transporting her body to Samoa.
God bless you and your kind heart. Thank you very much. I know with every little help, its one step closer to getting her home. Thank you again.
