Please Help me get to Japan

Last year one of my friends went on an educational summer camp to Japan called Gakko. When she got back she had many different amazing stories to tell. To be honest at the time I was a little jealous, it seemed like such an amazing experience and she said it had changed her life!

When the applications opened up this year I applied. For the next couple of months I was constantly checking my emails again and again and then... and finally, there it was! I got in!!

And not only did I get in I had an 85% scholarship!!! The camp itself is held in different countries every year, but this year it is in America and in Japan.

The camps are all about a new and different way of learning. Gakko started in 2012 and has only grown from there. Each year the camp creators pick high school and college students from around the world to attend, the college students are named sempai and the high school students kohai. The college students go on their own 6-week camp first, where they create their workshops based on what they are most passionate about for the Gakko camp later in the year. This means that every year is different because it is based on the college students who were picked that year, what they are studying and what new and innovative ideas they have. This means you never know what to expect!

For me, this would be absolutely amazing as I have grown up watching and reading anime and manga and would love to be able to go to the country where it originated and experience their culture. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I would love to go with all my heart. But the plane ticket to get there is a quite a big amount of money and at the moment my family can't afford that kind of cost, so any amount that you could spare to help me get to Gakko would be greatly appreciated.

El año pasado, uno de mis amigos fue a un campamento de verano educativo a Japón llamado Gakko. Cuando regresó, tenía muchas historias increíbles diferentes que contar. Para ser honesto en el momento en que estaba un poco celosa, me pareció una experiencia tan increíble y ¡ella dijo que había cambiado su vida! Cuando las aplicaciones se abrieron este año, presenté la solicitud. Durante los siguientes meses estuve constantemente revisando mis correos una y otra vez y luego ... ¡y finalmente, allí estaba! ¡¡Yo entre!!

¡Y no solo entré, tenía una beca del 85%! El campamento en sí se lleva a cabo en diferentes países cada año, pero este año está en América y en Japón. Los campamentos tienen que ver con una forma nueva y diferente de aprender. Gakko comenzó en 2012 y solo ha crecido desde allí. Cada año, los creadores del campamento eligen estudiantes de secundaria y universitarios de todo el mundo para asistir, los estudiantes universitarios se denominan sempai y los estudiantes de escuela secundaria kohai. Los estudiantes universitarios van primero a su propio campamento de 6 semanas, donde crean sus talleres según lo que les apasiona más para el campamento de Gakko más adelante en el año. Esto significa que cada año es diferente porque se basa en los estudiantes universitarios seleccionados ese año, lo que están estudiando y las ideas nuevas e innovadoras que tienen. ¡Esto significa que nunca se sabe qué esperar!

Para mí, esto sería absolutamente increíble ya que he crecido viendo y leyendo anime y manga y me encantaría poder ir al país donde se originó y experimentar su cultura. Esta es una oportunidad única en la vida, y me encantaría ir con todo mi corazón. Pero el boleto de avión para llegar es una cantidad bastante grande de dinero y en este momento mi familia no puede pagar ese tipo de costo, por lo que cualquier cantidad que pueda ahorrar para ayudarme a Gakko sería muy apreciada.
