Please help me see my children again!!

Thank you for reading my story.

My children, Raheel and Aleeya, are the most precious and amazing children a parent could ask for! They are kind, sweet, loving, caring, creative, helpful, hilarious and perfect in every way. This Christmas will mark 1 year since the last time I saw or spoke to them.

I am an NZ citizen born in New Plymouth. I lived in Malaysia and married a Malaysian in 2012.

Aften 7 years, I fled this relationship and returned with my children to New Zealand in 2018.

With no support from authorities and little to no provisions for victims of domestic abuse in the local religious system, I believed that the legal system in my own country would protect us.

Despite our experiences, evidence and witnesses, my children were sent back to Malaysia by the courts. I believe that religion and culture took precedence.

Once they set foot out of NZ, I lost contact with them completely.

NZ courts have no power to do anything to restore contact with my children and I, as outside of NZ, they have no jurisdiction.

My only chance is to challenge my ex-husband in Malaysian Shariah courts.

I dream about my children everyday, and I think about them constantly. My life shattered when I watched them walk away for the last time, knowing that he would never let me contact them again or vice versa.

I am worried for them. I do not know if they are safe from Covid-19, if they are schooling, where they are schooling, where they live and with who, their quality of life... I know that they miss me as much as I do, but they are too young to be able to contact me independently (they are only 8 and 6).

Please help me find a way to continue fighting to be a part of their life!!
