Please help Molly get the intensive therapy that she needs following her operation, it is not available in NZ but is in Australia.
Auckland
As you all know Molly, who is 9 years old, has cerebral palsy. This affects her both emotionally as well as physically. She has a left side that doesn't work properly, with an arm that is particularly affected. On a day to day basis she struggles with basic daily activities such as undressing, washing herself, eating with a knife and fork, putting on her shoes, pouring a glass of milk, cracking an egg, basically anything that requires two working arms and hands.
Molly is under a large team of health professionals and recently she had surgery on her left arm in an attempt to improve its function and therefore increase her independence. This would allow her to do all the activities that she struggles with daily more easily. The success of the surgery is pivotal on intensive and specific therapy following the operation. Unfortunately in NZ this type of therapy is simply not available. I have recently discovered that there is a course in Australia run by the Cerebral Palsy Alliance that offers the exact type of intensive therapy that Molly needs right now. Quite simply it would be life changing for her.
To make it possible for Molly to attend this course in January 2020, I need to raise enough money to cover the $10 000 course fees. Molly has already been accepted onto the course. Thank you in advance for your support, Meg Smith.
She is my daughter.
This money will all go towards getting Molly onto this intensive therapy course.
