Please help my brother in the fight of his life. He’s in intensive care with an undiagnosed infection, which has so far caused sepsis.
Auckland
Hi everyone, I was hoping to get some support behind my big brother Michael and his family.
He is currently in intensive care fighting for his life from an undiagnosed infection. The latest news is he has sepsis but the doctors still don’t know what the cause is. They’ve said if he makes it through it’s a long road to recovery.
Michael has five beautiful children with his wife of 14 years Rosaline. Michael is the main breadwinner of the family, working 7 days a week as a self employed farmer. Him not working means no income for their family as they have to pay someone to look after the farm while he’s not there.
This is just the latest in what’s already been a tough month for my family as there has been some severe bullying happening to one of their children, which has had some disastrous affects. So not only is my sister in law worried sick about her husband, but she also needs to be close her to her child due to these revelations and juggle her four other children, the youngest being 10 months.
They would never put themselves out there to ask for help, which is why I wanted to do this for them. When Michael gets home, I don’t want him rushing back to work due to the stress of finances, so any funds will be used to pay their reliever on the farm and hopefully take a little stress away from what’s already the worst time in their life.
The doctors have said if he makes it though it’s a long road to recovery so they need as much help as they can get. Even if you’re In Auckland and wanted to drop a hot meal around for the kids, I’m sure that would be appreciated.
I love you so much my brother!
Little sister

Awesome update on Michael 5 June 2021
Hi everyone!
Although we still don't know what has caused Michaels infection, he has turned a corner and is going to be ok!
He has now been moved out of ICU and into a ward, where he'll be for about three weeks while his body heals. We are still hoping to find out what caused this, but just feel so blessed and thankful that he is going to be ok. Michael is a fighter and all your prayers and messages of support helped!
I will be compiling every single message we received so he can read through and realise how much many people were backing his recovery. The doctors even mentioned they had been receiving bulk emails about Michael with advice on things to test on.
Although this has by far been the scariest time of our lives, I know they would agree that it has been incredibly humbling.
We are the lucky ones and have Michael here with us today, but i know from some of the messages we've received others haven't been so lucky and our hearts go out to you!
Thank you all again!
From the happiest little sister, Shannon
