Please help my niece

I am trying to raise funds for this beautiful wee family,so as they have one less thing to worry about at this very difficult time.

Hi there friends and family just wanted to reach out and ask for some help for my niece Maria Te-Ahuru and her lovely partner BJ Kingi-Karetai and their gorgeous son.

As some of you are already aware their unborn son has been recently diagnose with a congenital heart defect. I don't want to go into too much detail out of respect for their privacy and the fact that they are trying to cope with the news as best as they can.

I imagine the next few months will be an extremely hard and emotional journey for them all. They will have to make many flights around the country to see specialists, and on top of that they will have to relocate to Auckland from Southland for the last few weeks of pregnancy right up untill baby has this life saving operation and many weeks after to recover.

Myself and many other friends and family will do whatever we can to support their journey, but if we could fundraise enough to help cover some of the day to day costs of living, and household bills etc while they are away from their home and work, it will be one less thing for them to worry about.

Use of funds

The funds will be used for household bills,day to day living etc. If we exceed our target the extra money with be donated to the Heart Foundation.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
