Please help my stepson

  • Holding hope

      6 August 2023

Found out that if we get our boy his assessment it will open so many doors for him, from being able to be in school longer, when it comes time for him to get a job there is a outreach programme that will help him get employment. He will be able to join social groups and make friends with kids that are like him. The thought of being able to give that to our boy is so exciting. It will also mean we will have more information on how to help him as he progresses through life, help to know how to support his emotional needs as well as mental. I look forward to my boy being able to understand himself more.

    This is from Facebook.

    Autism is:

Unable to speak, or maybe speaking too much

    Hugging everyone, or disliking touch

    Escaping outside,

    Or trying to hide

    Excitedly flapping

    Inappropriate clapping

    Autism varies so much.

Won't wear a coat, or wears one all year round

Fussy eater, or would eat dirt from the ground.

Toys in a line the same way every time

    Autism varies so much.

Struggling to learn, or has wonderful gifts

Obsessions of numbers, trains, films or lifts

    Autism varies so much

Alone without friends, or controls every game

Always looks different, always dresses the same

Can't answer questions, won't do as they're told

In their own world or bossy and bold

    Over prepared

    Anxious and scared

    A spectrum so wide

But they all bring us pride

    When autism touches our lives.

    I support autism awareness always

    ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

  • Thank you!

      25 July 2023

Thank you to everyone who has donated it is greatly appreciated. What gets donated unless "topped up" to cover give a littles fees aren't as much so the number you see raised isn't what will be recieve but its still incredible so thank you!.

Update- our boy is still on two waiting lists private and public but that's normal.

He came home the other day super excited as he got a MERIT in his probability test! This takes him to 11 credits earned. He did so well. He tends to always think in probabilities, so it's no surprise he did well. Still proud as though. We had family come up to visit that noticed a big change in our boy. They could see he was relaxed and happy 😊 that's all we want is for him to be happy.

I could write for days but I won't. Thank you again for your support it means the world to us all!

Thank you all so very much for your support in getting our boy assessed. He has officially been added to a private waitlist for his assessment. He has been doing so well, he is much happier and touch wood his anxiety has calmed greatly. We have him booked to see a therapist too which is great. He has just come back from spending time with his great grandparents that he is very close with. He even said he missed us and our animals. Today he learnt to make instant pasta. He is such a kind, caring, loving boy and I just want to give him the world. Again thank you all so much! We have a wee way to go but are working on it as much as possible. Thank you all for your love and support on this journey. I wish I could show you all his relaxed smile it's beautiful! And so different to what it used to be.
