Taking it day by day
25 September 2024Yesterday was a day of getting used to things! He is up & about for short stints - mainly to go to the loo then he is back to bed or staying very close to his mummy or daddy. He’s not drinking but is eating small amounts of soft foods 3x a day with his meds
He hasn’t had a 💩 so I rung the vets & they said with the amount of drugs and fluids intravenously he had, not to worry. They gave us a follow up call yesterday morning, & are will again this arvo to see if he has started drinking. He is finding it difficult with his collar on, when walking he’s bumping into everything with his cone then freezing where he stands until one of us unhooks him off what ever he got caught on. He is sleeping lots but then gets up all space cadet like and stares at a wall or a dream catcher for ages🥹 His eye is very weepy, he hasn’t really barked at all but that’s to be expected. I am applying his eye cream 3 times a day. Scruffy has been an amazing little brother. He is always beside Cy & is being very good with not jumping on him like he usually does. Cy has his own pillow to keep pressure off his neck & he has his blanket to keep the two leg wound covered. Hopefully he improves a bit more & starts to drink on his own, but for now I think he’s doing amazing. Thankyou all for following his journey- he still has a couple of weeks of R&R. This photo was him about an hour ago after his meds kicked last night in with his blankie and pillow (& cone head)
Much love ❤️
